Vassilyevsky Island Project

On the banks of Bolshaya Neva and Gulf of Finland, just four kilometers away from Hermitage and in the direct view from the Isakievsky Cathedral, on a site measuring more than 60 hectares and situated at the historical center of St.Petersburg in the Vassilyevsky Island, OPK-Development is implementing one of the most promising developer projects in the North West of Russia – construction of a neighborhood unit of housing, hotels and shopping outlets measuring 2.8 mln sq.m. in total area (of which housing totals 2.3 mln sq.m.).

The project will be distinguished by the diversity of the block’s buildings. The same area will sport several types of residential facilities, ranging from low-rise buildings at the water-front to modern buildings which will make dominant landmarks of the area. One of the priority tasks is to preserve historical buildings, which will make it possible to seamlessly integrate the modern development into the historical architecture of St.Petersburg. The city government will participate in preparation of a program for development of transportation in the area, taking the new complex into account and envisaging, among other things, construction of new modern bridges to connect the Vassilyevsky Island with the major arterial highways of St.Petersburg. The stable dynamic growth of the St.Petersburg real estate market, which is now at the start of its vigorous development, contributes to the success of the project.
